The Jubilance, a prelude for piano was composed to satisfy the final requirement of a counterpoint course in my undergraduate studies. Inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach's Das Wohltemperierte Klavier in style and form, the prelude explores development of a very short single theme through melodic mutations and harmonic modulations. The Jubilance is full of colorful energy. Of interest might also be the orchestrated version of the prelude and the accompanying fugue The Lament.
