About Giclee Process

Giclee (from French, pronounced "zhee-clay") is a term for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. In this process, a fine stream of pigmented inks (more than four million droplets per second) is sprayed onto fine art papers, canvas, or fabrics.

All of my giclees are produced using Epson UltraChrome K3™ ink technology, the latest generation of pigment ink, which incorporates eight new color pigments, including a new three-level black technology, dramatically raising the bar for professional color and black and white prints.

This technology, because of its extraordinary accuracy and exceptional color saturation, is currently used by artists for reproducing oil, acrylic, watercolor, and other media. In this process the artwork is first scanned or photographed, and the digital file is adjusted for color balance. However, because my works are created digitally, this step is omitted. There is no loss of data because all giclees are produced from the original file.

I utilize high quality canvas and personally wrap, inspect, and sign each one. All canvases are wrapped gallery style, neatly stapled on the back, and equiped with a hook for hanging. The sides are painted, thus there is no need for a frame. However you may frame the artwork if you wish.
